If you are lying there and can’t fall asleep, try getting up and doing something else that’s calm and relaxing. Assuming you’ve tried to reset your midnight and you don’t have a physical problem like sleep apnea, if you can’t sleep it’s usually due to stress and a racing mind. If you're spending more than 5, 10 or maybe 15 minutes, trying to fall asleep, you should get up and do some sort of very light, easy activity. It shouldn't be getting on a laptop and checking your email, but listening to light music, doing meditation, reading a light book. Something that’s out of your bed but calming and relaxing and don't go back to sleep again until you feel tired. It's actually very freeing for people when they realize that they don’t have to lie in bed suffering and trying to fall asleep.
