Julie Burstein, is a writer and radio producer who, in 2000, created Public Radio International's show Studio 360 to explore pop culture and the arts. Burstein is the author of Spark: How Creativity Works and is the host of pursuitofspark.com, conversations about creative approaches to the challenges, possibilities and pleasures of everyday life. She was also a presenter at the prestigious TED2012 conference.

Choose to pay attention to what’s around you, and see something new in the every day. It’s hard because we are running so fast but what the artists, filmmakers, writers and musicians that I've spoken to over the years have shown me is that the first step to creativity is opening yourself up to experience. This is what happened when I saw the yarn and got the idea to crochet again.
