Create a communication station. Some people like to have a large wall calendar for the family calendar, although now people are going more toward electronic versions where everyone shares a Google calendar. Usually people have a bulletin board or a chalkboard or both in their kitchen to post things. Think about if there are phone messages or mail, how is that going to get distributed and how is that going to be best seen by everybody without having to nag? That can take many different forms depending on your house and the age of your children and all those things, but just be deliberate about how your family communicates.
